Pond at dusk
Turning back time to this magical evening with Christian. Rain was pouring everywhere in the region and there was the threat of postponing, but our little nook in the hills of east Tennessee remained dry, with just enough light to document this beauteous human.
This photo session rejuvenated my love and need to continue my conceptual fashion photography work. There is something about curating a scene based on the mood of natural surroundings, and the increasing darkness contributed to the story that unfolds in these images; one of mystery, loneliness, longing and independence.
Great-Grandkids in the Garden
Growing up, my favorite place was my grandmother's (aka Mamaw) secret garden. Today, I got to stroll through her garden with her great-grandchildren and take their photos; my nieces and nephew. Overwhelmed with happiness today.
Katie in Blue | Portrait Session in east Tennessee
Model: Katie Dickens, Makeup/Styling/Photography: Whitney S W, Photo Assistant: Jada Nave
This is the lovely Katie, wearing a glorious, flowing tie-dyed shirt from the 90's that I've been itching to use in a photo shoot for years; finally found the right person for it. For makeup, I wanted to showcase Katie's stunning green eyes and perfect eyebrows *sigh* with some bright red shadow. Love how it looks with her golden hair.

Modern Woodmen Magazine - Photography by Whitney S W {Jonesborough, Tennessee}
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph this beautiful family for Modern Woodmen of America magazine. The magazine not only featured the family but also the town of Jonesborough, Tennessee, my very photogenic hometown. Check out my next post for scenic shots I took of downtown Jonesborough for the magazine.

Headshots and group portraits for Portland Utilities Construction Company
These portraits were taken for the new Portland Utilities Construction Company website (I made that too). The challenge was photographing the PUCC team individually and as a group, in a pretty small time frame. Fortunately, this is a wonderful bunch of folks who made my job very easy!

Happy 4th Birthday, Winter!
I've taken a lot of photos of my niece Winter over the past four years. Here's a look back at this little gal's 1st birthday where we went all out to make it a magical event.
I had a lot of fun making that crown. :-D
Happy Birthday, Winter!
I'd love to photograph your little one's birthday festivities!
Family Portraits
For this family portrait session in the beautiful hills of east Tennessee, we had a perfect day on our hands, with the sunset glistening through the trees. While we had just a little time on our hands to do both family and senior portraits at sunset, we were able to get tons of beautiful shots. Really happy with how these turned out!

Portrait Throwback: Pinki
Today's throwback feature is of one of my favorite people, Pinki. She is hilarious, beautiful, intelligent, and I wanted to showcase this with these photos. I will never forget the stunning array of sari dresses that made up her wardrobe for the shoot, making these photos really come to life against the natural surroundings.
